Problem
Beta success created a fulfillment problem overnight: orders were coming, but building finished units to stock meant tying up scarce cash in inventory against long component lead times.
Insight
The real constraint wasn’t build speed — it was where inventory was held. Hold flexible components instead of finished goods and the cash-flow math changes completely.
Solution
We redesigned the device for assembly around three moves:
- Minimal changes to a proven, performance-critical design
- Modular subassemblies that build in parallel
- Yield improvements that de-risk the ramp
