Problem
Adoption was blocked by real barriers: cost, integration complexity, regulatory risk, and the long timeline of building a custom shielded infusion pump.
Insight
We realized we didn’t need to build a shielded pump at all. Hospitals already have infusion pumps — so instead of replicating that, we could harness their existing flow-control source and pair it with a passive system that enables the radiopharmaceutical workflow.
Solution
A passive system that works with the hospital’s existing pump — so it:
- Harnesses flow control hospitals already have, rather than building a shielded pump
- Maintains radiation safety across the whole workflow — engineered around the three domains of protection: time, distance, and shielding
- Removes whole categories of electronics cost, tooling, and regulatory burden
- Delivers value as a consumable — no capital purchase, opening the device to more settings
